DESCRIPTION OF OUR OPERATIONS
Access Control and Body Search Procedure
 
The purpose of this function is to:
- Prevent the unlawful entry of persons and vehicles or the bringing in of dangerous objects and illegal substances (drugs, etc) onto the premises in order to protect and safeguard the site as a whole.
- Ensure that there are no persons, without proof of authority, leaving with the client property by searching vehicles and persons as they leave and shall be done in accordance to the application of the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act No 53 of 1985.
Public Relations
It is an undisputed fact that our officers will receive the entire client’s visitors, clients, contract, etc firstly. For this reason it is therefore encumber upon us to ensure that in our conduct, present ability, behaviour, discipline etc will project a very good image and the highest level of professionalism.
Patrolling Function
The purpose of the function is to detect in time any signs of sabotage, gas or water leakage, fire hazards / smouldering fires, etc. This could be done in many ways - by observing suspicious people loitering and wondering about supervising the loading of garbage, checking receiving areas, parking grounds, drunks, etc. This will be done continuously by troops on foot on random basis through the shift.
Loss Prevention and Control
This function is primary to ensure that there is no loss whatsoever of the client property, assets, equipment, etc. It is implemented in conjunction with the functions like vehicle searching. Various ways of doing this, which are detailed in our manual but to mention a few: the control of delivery and removal of equipment from the premises.
Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
  
Throughout the day when patrols are done, all fire hazards will be monitored. And should there be a fire - there is always an emergency evacuation plan that our officers will follow.
Vehicle Protection
Vehicles belonging to the client, employees of the client and any other vehicles inside the premises need to be secured. This function is to prevent break-ins and car thefts inside the premises.
Firearm Control
This function relates to firearms or any dangerous object that may be brought into the premises by either employee, visitors from the pubic with or without prior authorization by the relevant client’s official.
Incident Reporting and Handling
Any untoward happening will be recorded in the occurrence book immediately and will be reported by the relevant role players at the JOC.
Lost and Found Management
All articles found in any service location for ownership cannot be established, will be handed in the guardroom and entered in occurrence book. Thereafter an attempt will be made to find the rightful owner.
Emergency Function
  
This function relates to any emergency situation that may occur in a service location like bomb threats, hostage situations, fires, any major accidents etc. We have an emergency plan in place detailing the exact procedure ranging from informing the relevant authorities to the evacuation of all the inhabitants. |
